What is the time commitment to Coaching?
Each client is individually addressed in coaching. If you're involved in
"express coaching" with Coach Lisa, then you might need coaching for just
one day or a week. If you desire to address a number of areas, then a client
would be coached over several months and taper off when the client and coach
communicate that the desired effects of coaching have been achieved.
Does
every client receive something out of coaching?
Coach Lisa hopes so, but it can be an unrealistic expectation out of
coaching. Not all coaches and clients may be an ideal fit together. What is
ideal about ADHD Coaching is that one can benefit from the fact that coaches
work very closely with each other, and can provide referrals. The best
coaches have a list of these other coaching resources or the ability to
point a client to resources with these listings. Lisa can promise you she
will give you her undivided, one-on-one attention during coaching time, but
it is also the responsibility of the client to come into coaching ready to
begin the process of "self-discovery" with their full attention.
Can medication replace the need for coaching?
Medication is never a method of replacing coaching. Not everyone is
required to be on medication; and, those clients on medication need to
consider a complete multi-modal approach towards treatment. Coach Lisa is a
strong believer that a client is most successful with coaching, medication
and psychotherapy. By this multi-modal approach a client can best benefit by
developing successful strategies. A client's organizational skills can
improve greatly and even time management would be improved.
Should a Coach be local or in-person?
Coaching has become so popular that in some areas of the country a local
coach is not available. The client's locality and the needs of the client
should be considered. Most coaching is normally done by phone and e-mail
contact. Some client's learning styles require "in-person" coaching, but
before deciding on in-person or phone/e-mail coaching, talk with the coach
and consider equally which approach would be most beneficial.
